On the initiative of the students of the High School of Transport from Slivnica, a municipality located near the Serbian border, „Serbian Day“ was organized, which was attended by Ambassador Jović, the President of the Municipality of Slivnica, Vasko Stoilkov, the President of the Assembly of the Municipality of Slivnica, Milka Milanova, the principal, teachers and students of the mentioned school, and pupils from Pirot „Vocational High School“, led by the director Marija Ćirić.

During the event, the students of the Bulgarian school prepared a short cultural and artistic program, as well as an impressive presentation of Serbia and its sights and beauties. Addressing the audience, Ambassador Jović thanked for the wonderful initiative and the opportunity for children from two schools, two different countries, to meet and create conditions for further socializing and joint activities. The ambassador pointed out that he is particularly happy because such a manifestation is exactly what should happen every day, pointing out that the connections between people, between peoples, and especially between young generations of different nations, are perhaps the most important for the bright future of our region.

The ambassador pointed out that "our goal, both of the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Bulgaria, is for you to stay here, in Serbia, Bulgaria. Travel, get educated at universities, but come back. Without you, we have no future. It is very important to establish ties between the young people of the two countries, because that way you will understand each other better, you will learn from each other, you will break the prejudices that still exist much easier. Now, with the new highways in Serbia and Bulgaria, you can get from Sofia to Niš in three hours and 45 minutes. By the end of 2027, you will have the best conditions to travel, and to get to know each other. You just have to find reasons that will bring you together here and in Serbia. Make friends, learn, and above all be good people, because that's the most important thing in life."
